In the Standard room, you will find everything you need to break away from everyday life. High-quality Svane beds guarantee relaxation and a good night’s sleep.
Story:
When the decision was made to build a new prison in Turku, the prison mental hospital, county prison and Turku Central Prison (Kakola) were administratively combined into one facility, which moved 8.5 kilometers away to Saramäki in September 2007. The facilities were empty until 2015, when the current Kakola Yhtiöt Oy first bought the Kakola buildings and the following year the premises of the county prison. Renovations of the county prison began in the fall of 2018 and the hotel opened in September 2020. In addition to the apartments, the Kakola buildings include the restaurant Kakolanruusu, the bakery-cafe Bageri Å, the coffee roaster Frukt Coffee Roasters, the brewery Kakola Brewing Company, the Kakola store and the Kakola Spa, which opened its doors in December 2022.
