Sauna Oasis – An oasis for relaxation amidst the hustle and bustle

Welcome to Ilosaari, a landmark in Joensuu, situated in the heart of the beautiful rapids of the Pielisjoki River.

As you follow the path down to a picturesque lagoon, you’ll find the Avantosauna Kuura’s Sauna Oasis waiting for you. This unique sea-container structure, designed by Karri Vaakanainen and adorned with a beautiful larch wood façade, houses two traditional Finnish saunas.

The saunas are named after the lakes at the source and mouth of the Pielisjoki River: Sauna Pielinen and Sauna Pyhäselkä. Adjacent to the saunas are men’s and women’s changing rooms, equipped with showers, toilets, and lockers for valuables. At Sauna Oasis, hot water is always included in the price of your session.
